(15-f039wm) Replaced HD with SSD, now freezes on every warm boot.

Replaced the OEM 250GB hard drive with a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD. Booted from a Win10 DVD and it saw the drive, formatted it, and installed Windows without complaint. Booted up, went into audit mode, started pulling Windows updates. Again, everything looked good. When it went to reboot after installing updates, the computer hung on the HP logo screen. No chasing-dots, just the HP logo. I had it siting there for an hour before I powered it off. I powered it back on again (cold boot) and it booted just fine.

After some experimentation I noticed a pattern: Every time I warm-booted the computer it would hang. I could only get it to fully start when it cold boots. This even holds true for the BIOS; if I boot into BIOS, then save and exit, the computer hangs. I have to power down and cold boot to get things running again.

Samsung Magician says the drive is on the latest firmware. Ideas?

To help diagnose it, I would pull the hard drive and use an SATA to USB adapter and boot externally. This guide should be close enough to help you:
