How to fixUnmountable Boot Volume message on Windows XP

How can I get my PC to start up Windows XP again. It just loads the loading screen over and over again until I press F8 and force stop restart. Then the UNmountable

Boot Volume message appears.

Normally for unmountable boot volume, I can think of is the hard disk could be dying.

since you mentioned about winxp, chances the hard disk has aged.

What is your model of your current pc / laptop?

If data is important, i would suggest you to start recovery.

download hiren (burn to cd or make usb bootable from a working pc) which i suggest and run live linux window ….

or connect to another computer to start the recovery.

Get another external drive to copy and store your existing data / document.

depending on your hard disk manufacturer, use the hdd diagnostic tool to run a full check.
