Why is the trackpad click not working after replacement?

Hello,

I bought a used trackpad with cable from ebay to replace mine (it is cracked).

For replacement I followed the tutorial on this website.

Unfortunately the hardware click does not work any more after replacement - I can hear the clicking noise, but MacOS isn't responding. So I replaced this one with my cracked Trackpad and hardware-click is working again.

The seller of this part already sent me a replacement unit to exclude that the cable is faulty. Still the same problem, so I don't think the cable is the problem.

The item no. is 922-9525 and it was pulled out from a 2010 Macbook Pro. There are also trackpads with item no. 922-9063. Can anybody tell me, which one is the right one?

Edit:

So, item no. 922-9525 was the wrong one. The right one is 922-9063. Now click works just fine

You may be buying substandard knock off parts. Try another reseller from a different part of the world.
