Buttons on bottom of phone no longer work - can it be fixed?

The three buttons at the bottom of the phone no longer respond at all, after the phone was dropped. There is no damage to the screen however. What is the likely cause and can this be fixed?

You may have partially disconnected the display cable when you dropped your phone. Open up your phone and reseat the display cable. Use the guide below to do so. If reseating the cable doesn’t help, you likely damaged your digitizer but not the LCD.
