Head lights turn on and tail lights go out, head lights turned off
when I turn my head lights off the tail lights come on as if they are brake lights. I have dash lights, front park lights and headlights when I turn them on with the headlight switch on the dash. I have no tail lights otherwise

@petespoolhall so you never really have tail lights? Only brake lights in the back when you turn your headlights off? Do you have brakelights at all times? Have you changed any bulbs recently? What year and model is your GMC? HAve you checked the bulbs and the lights for corrosion? Checked the wiring harness connector for corrosion?
