I agree with mayer. Even if it physically can be done there is no firmware to support it. Apple's are not intended to be upgraded from the start. I understand that the EULA allows for RAM & hard drive upgrades. But Apple doesn't advertise that in order to upgrade a HD that the HD needs locked to 1.5Gbs or the system won't recognize it.

SATA I/O Speed in this system is SATA I (1.5 Gb/s). Newer SATA standards SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) & SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) HD's or SSD can't be used unless they can have their I/O speed lowered to match your systems limit.
