iPhone turns on, but after Apple logo it turns black but remains on.

Hi there,

My girlfriend dropped her phone kinda bad, so the screen was completely dead with only backlight showing any sign of living. However, I replaced the screen and then I tried to turn it on, and it didn’t start up..

with the charger in, and no home button-cable connected it shows the Apple-logo and then fades to black in a kinda’ pixelated way, but remains on. Backlight is showing, but when I try to start it with the home button-cable attached it won’t turn on..

I have changed the battery, sensor flex, LCD, flex cable for home button, but it still turns to black after the Apple logo shows.

It shows some gray stripes upwards on the screen, just on the top before turning to black..is there a way to fix this?

I can’t make a backup either because my computer ain’t trusted, and neither is her own.. (big miss..)

best regards,

JL

Is it detected by iTunes in recovery mode or in normal mode or not at all? That is your next step.

Is the phone recognized by iTunes? You say it’s not trusted so it sounds like iTunes does see the phone, but you can’t get past the trust issue.

At this point, you see the backlight, you see the display for a few moments (logo), you’ve tried a new battery and screen. It pretty much all points to a logic board issue, assuming the replacement parts are all in good working order. It’s hard to remote diagnose this kind of problem and I believe you have tried pretty much everything a DIY fixer can try. The hard impact probably damaged some soldered connections under one of the IC’s or dislodged some components somewhere. You should have this looked at by a repair shop that does micro-soldering repair.

check the lcd connection to the motherboard, plug nothing but the lcd and digitiser flex, to see what happens. if that doesnt work try a different lcd
