Airport Card Not Turning on WIFI MacBook Pro

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro and am having problems with the WiFi.

Depending on the boot it would either work sporadically, not turn on WiFi even when selected, or say it didn’t have any WiFi hardware installed. I‘ve been using this computer since 2012 so I know there is WiFi hardware installed!

I recently replaced the AirPort card following the iFixit tutorial. This fixed it for about a day but now the WiFi will refuse to turn on again.

Is this a bad card again?

Any ideas on what else the problem could be?

Thanks

Thanks for the response Dan. As I mentioned in the question, I have already replaced the airport card once. Do you think it is likely that the two cards I have tried are both bad? Or is there a different problem?

No, it's not the card it's the cable.
