Replace RAM, SSD and battery in MBP 2012 from MBA 2013

I have a 2012 non retina MBP (4gb RAM and 500 gb hard drive). I also have a 2013 MBA (128gb SSD and 16gb RAM) which is out of order due to broken screen. I want to update my MBP with components from MBA mainly SSD, RAM and battery. Are these parts interchangeable between two laptops?

Hey rdecartus

Unfortunately these two MacBook’s are different to an extent. The 2013 MacBook Pro line, started the production of the RAM being soldered to the Logic Board for faster productivity and data transfer. The blade drive inside is a chip like SSD, which is not the traditional HDD.

However the 2012 MacBook Pro models are upgradeable every which way. If you want to match the specs of the other MacBook you can do so through buying parts from here, Best Buy, and iFixit. You can max out the unit with upgrading the RAM to (32GB) and the SSD I believe up to 2TB of storage. Which is still pretty fast for that model.

Or attempt a Logic Board switch if the MacBooks frame screw holes can seat it.

Good Luck!

Nothing is interchangeable on these two machines. They are completely different animals.
