Is Case Cause of stuck DVD?

Have you seen issues where the case itself on the iBook G4 14" has sagged a little and therefore the CD/DVD cannot exit the slot? With a straight-edge on top of the case (lid is up), there is a 1/16' sag down in the center over the slot. Can this be enough to cause the CD to stick?

By the way, your site is just GREAT !

I'm going to get the tools and return this iBook to operation. Not only is a DVD stuck, but the last software update corrupted the operating system and I need to do an archive install or full re-install now, but first fix the CD drive.

I have seen this on my iBook G4. Pressure on the case from being in a backpack caused the DVD drive slot to sag and compress in a bit. I took a wide flat head screwdriver and stuck it in to the drive case just a bit. Make sure you get past the plastic part because it is actually the metal part that is bent. Slowly and gently twist the screwdriver to open up the case enough to let the disc eject. It helps if you turn the computer on it's side and let gravity assist.

Another way to do it, is wait until you have the iBook apart, remove the superdrive and unbend it then. The CD should come right out.
