Mobile network does not connect to internet. Antenna Broken?

Hello, my s8 was randomly overheating the past few months. Charging port broke/ would not charge and smell burnt if attempted. Fast forward a few months, I have been using wireless charging, and now the internet no longer works when I am using data (no wifi). Wifi works when connected, but even if I have plenty of service, all data using apps say to check connection/ won't connect. I have reset network settings multiple times, with no luck. I am thinking it is an internal issue that has come about regarding the antenna.. perhaps due to the overheating that happens from time to time. Advice is much appreciated. Thank you!

Any form of odour from an electronic product is never good. The fact that it has done this via charging makes me think something has shorted out and possibly caused more internal damage. The burnt smell could possibly be the antenna itself being burnt or damaged, or maybe the cellular IC maybe damaged. I would start with opening up the phone and taking a look at the board to see any visual damage. Replace any antenna's to eliminate the possibilities and use UV hardening glue to re-seal the phone and restore it to it's water proof state. Good luck.
