My battery drain too quickly even after battery remplacement

Hi I'm new here,

So it's been 2 days that I've change my battery and I've notice an drastic battery drain (1% every 5 mins equal to 8 hours/day) even if the phone is in standby mode and sometimes my lightning cable is not recognized by the phone (this accesory may not be charge the phone) and does not charge (it's charging if I connect it to the computer).

My phone is recognised by itunes and I'm still able to restore.

I think the tristar U2 IC chip is broken but I'm not so sure

Thanks for your answer

PS:Sorry for my bad English I'm a French speaking/writing guy :)

PS: the phone takes a lot of time to charge (3h30 to a full charge)

and when the battery's dead it does not take charge or get stuck in a bootloop :/

Hello again! After trying everything you are still having the issue? Then it may honestly be the U2 IC chip. Sorry my recommendations did not work, and that it may be the worse one if the issues, but if you know how to solder, you can fix it yourself for fairly cheap, but if not, it will be fairly expensive and I would recommend just upgrading your phone from there because the price for a new or newer phone over fixing your current phone is honestly equal.

Best of luck!

If the phone getting pretty hot there is clearly a short circuit in the phone. Have you tried booting phone without front and back camera installed and see if it heats up a lot still?

Thanks everyone for your help but even if I have some solder skills I'll just buy a new phone

Hello Greg,

Your issue most likely is just a poor battery replacement. I do not know if you took it to Apple or did it yourself, but it is most likely the battery. The U2 IC chip would be the issue if once the phone died, even when plugged in and showing charging, would not want to power up, or charge very, very slowly. If you did the repair yourself, I would recommend ordering a new battery from iFixit or another site like Fixez. If Apple did the repair, then it may be a one in a million issue of a bad battery. The issue of your lightning cable not working is most likely because it is not the original Apple charger. Im not saying that you need to go drop $30 dollars on Apples cheap and overpriced cables, but if you are going to get a cable that wants to work, order one that is "MFi Certified". I would personally recommend Anker.

Hope this helps!
