Where do two rubber spacers go when changing lightning connector?

I changed the lightning connector/headphone jack assembly on my iPhone 6. While putting back together, I noticed one rubber spacer. Slightly triangular shaped in one dimension, and rectangular in another, with a hole through it. I thought I saw it come out from the lightning connector area but nothing seems to make sense in that area. Then I noticed a second one loose. Since performing this task, I cannot type a "y" in the normal orientation. I can only type a "y" if I rotate the phone 90 degrees.

It's actually on the screw hole on the screen, should not be related to typing problem.

I spoke to a pro this morning who was repairing my wife's iPhone that had coffee spilled on it. I told him that I replaced the charging/headphone jack assembly showed him what was going on with my keyboard(some characters not working).

He said try disconnecting the screen again and reconnecting it. That took care of the issue. Problem solved! Thank you iFixit.com, and thank you for the advice iPhone Doctor.
