Replaced screen and phone turns on normal but won’t respond to touch

My husband replaced his phone screen and followed all the steps to do so and his phone turns on just fine and the screen lights up to his original home screen but his phone screen doesn’t work when he touches it. It isn’t sensing him touching it and it’s not letting him unlock his phone any suggestions are welcome I’d rather not pay to fix it if I can avoid it! Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi. Looks like when the screen replacement occurred the home button was damaged either on the ribbon connecting to the button or one of the chips. The only option is to take it to apple to see if they can program a new button. This part is not replaceable on the 7/8 models.

There might be a loose connection somewhere. The first thing to do would be to reinstall the screen making sure all the connections are connect appropriately. Go slow and make sure you do it right. If you do that and it still doesn't work you may have a faulty screen. I hope that this helps you out
