iPhone 4 front panal
is there a way to just replace the glass on the front and not have to buy the LCD connected already?

There is no reasonable way to just replace the front glass on the iP4. Apple has glued the 3 components of the front screen (glass, digitizer, LCD) together very strongly. Much stronger than the Original iPhone 2g. The stronger front glass is more difficult to chip away now. So you need to replace the complete assembly with new LCD.
