Mod MacBook Air screen and replace with retina MacBook Pro

Would it be possible to replace my MacBook air's screen with a brand new retina MacBook Pro screen. Are there going to be driver issues it will it work. (Knowing apple it most probably not work)

It won’t work ;-{ But this is no Apple being sinister ;-}

the issue is differences in the signaling between the two. The Air uses the older LVDS connection, whereas the Retinas use an internal version of DisplayPort.

So think of it this way… A car that uses gasoline can’t use diesel fuel.
