Blinking Folder With A question mark.

I have tried all of the recommended button things and nothing has worked , if I turn my Imac on and press the "option key" it goes to the hard drive, but when I click the arrow it takes me to a white screen, and I have looked up questions and anwser's and none have helped, I don't know what to do now, the imac is from 2007 I think. Please help.

Your machine cannot find a valid operating system. Probable hard drive failure. Try starting up from the original system installation disk or a retail 10.5 DVD.

Insert the disk and hold down the C key on start up

You'll need to look on Amazon or eBay for a retail version of Leopard (OS-X 10.5.x). Don't forget you may need a new hard drive here as well.
