Only works when left upside down for a few hours

Sometimes the ipod works fine and the battery lasts for hours, but other times it makes a clicking noise and it says low battery even though it was full a minute earlier. It starts working again when you leave it upside down for a few hours. I think something is loose. What should I do?

sounds like the battery is loose, try opening it, and using a piece of tape to hold the battery to the metal backing, since i belive that the batteries in this iPod need to be grounded to the case in order to be working properly, since about a year ago, i replaced my ipod's battery, and it wouldn't charge, just turn on when connected. after opening it, and checking all kinds of stuff, and taping the battery in place, it worked fine.

I would say open it, since they are one of the easiest iPod ever created to open and check to see if the battery is connected securely to its' port. Since you hear clicking sound, that's the harddrive, but it doesn't sound like anything is wrong on that part. You may just need a new battery. Let me know how it goes.
