HI, without the proper equipment this would be pretty difficult to do. Do you own a Microscope? Hot air station? It is not impossible but I would highly reccomen getting some BGA practivce under your belt before tackling this job.

You cannot upgrade the RAM on a MacBook Air. It is soldered in place. (Src: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbo...)
