How to fix "plugged in, not charging" in HP Pavilion 13-s128nr x360?

When the AC adapter is plugged in, it is shown "plugged in, not charging" and the battery light indicator does not come on. How could this issue be fixed?

It sounds like the charger is not sourcing enough current to the laptop. Are you using the charger that came with the laptop, or an aftermarket charger/charger for another HP laptop?

a few different things can cause the error youre getting.

1) Make sure the full voltage is coming from your AC Adapter. :::: Adapter may need to be replaced.

2) Make sure your Port is accepting a Charge :::: Port may need to be replaced

3) make sure your battery is accepting the charge from your adapter. (proper voltage at the pins while charging) :::: This is usually a logic board failure.

4) Make sure your battery is good. (replacing it is the most simple way to do this.)

If any of the above is failing, fix accordingly.

i’m having the same problem, it happened after I used a 12v to 120v converter in a car, it makes a buzzing noise and something might be fried, it works if I unplug and plug it in like 1000000000 times

Did you upgrade to windows 10? I seems this is a driver issue with the battery controller. im still researching it but the charging works under Windows 8.1. Once you go to 10, it's over. Microsofts battery driver overrides the original HP driver and doesn't enable charging while plugged in.
