MacBook Pro 15'' mid 2010 screen gets suddenly black

Hello guys,

I have a MacBook Pro 15'' mid 2010 laptop. The LCD works normal, clear colors etc, but sometimes, last time more often, the screen just gets dark suddenly. I can hear the sound normally, but LCD is black. I do not think the LCD is the problem, maybe a cable, or something else.

I have to restart it 2-3 or more times the laptop, and after a while works well. Sometimes just pushing the mouse pad is enough.

May I know how to find what the problem is, and how to fix it?

Thank you.

The next time it happens, take a flashlight and shine it through to Apple Logo in the lid, then looking at the display to you see the faint images of your desktop and its icons? If yes, your backlight logic needs to be looked at. If no you'll need to connect your system to an external monitor to see if it works that way. If yes then the LVDS cable and its connection on the logic board need to be looked at.
