Zoom feature goes in and out when turned on, then shuts down.
When turned on, the zoom goes in and out a few times then shuts down. Try repeatedly - same thing.

@dunelm this is most commonly caused by a stuck lens. What happens when you turn your camera on the lens extents but does not extend properly. Check the things you can try on this site. Ultimately so you will most likely have to replace the lens assembly. Use this guide Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 Lens Replacement for that.
