SSD external adapater 2015 MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro with the 12+16 pin SSD. I am looking at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014...

Unfortunately I have seem to have killed my Mac with wine. Before I send it off to try and get it repaired I was going to try and pull the data off the SSD. Can anyone advise me on if this works?

The adapter is a correct one for your Macbook's Ssd. Unless you already did that, I'd recommend you to remove the battery before removing the Ssd, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the response. I haven't removed the battery but it won't turn on either!

Nevermind, it might have retained power, there's no way to know if the Mac doesn't turn on. Once you remove the bottom cover you can have a look at this guide to figure out how to do it correctly. Once you disconnect it from the board you're done, just takes a minute..
