How to fix my front screen myself and what parts to purchase?

Hi I’m not quite Sure if I need a glass replacement or need to replace the LCD + digitizer layer of my screen. Can someone help identify what type of damage this is?

The touch screen works fine and I’ve been having no issues with it for almost a year besides seeing the writing clearly in the colored spots. My textbook fell on it despite having tempered glass attached to the screen.

Can someone thoroughly recommend what I should do? I do have some PC experience but not sure if I should go about replacing a touch screen device on my own. Knowing what sort of damage will help me fix the issue

@mehekki unless you have the tools to separate the LCD from the glass etc. (which will cost you way more than a new display) it will be pretty much impossible to do that. In your case use this guide Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Display Assembly and Frame Replacement and get the part from here [linked product missing or disabled: IF302-006] or CDMA from here [linked product missing or disabled: IF302-084] I am sure you think you can get them cheaper somewhere else and possibly you will, but at least with iFixit you know you get the best quality and best warranty in the business.
