poor print quality on CAD

I have an Epson WF-7610. It prints OK when using the word processor. When I try to print with my CAD program the print is extremely light. I have set the quality in the Epson settings to the best in settings. I have set every thing I can find on the CAD print dialog which includes changing the line width. The CAD program permits changing all colors to black which is what I want. I have tried both color and black and white in the Epson settings and it does not make any difference. I had plugged print head but that is fixed. Any suggestions?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi @gordonl ,

Has it worked OK before when using the CAD program?

Are you using the Epson WF-7610 drivers relevant to your particular OS or do you have your OS's 'generic' Epson WF-7610 drivers installed?

Also noticed on this link that there is a recent firmware update available that may be worth thinking about installing.

Just a thought.

The CAD program prints just fine with my HP printer but the HP will not do 11x17 so I am trying to use this Epson.

I just updated the firmware. I got this printer used and had just installed it using the download from the Epson site so I assumed that it was up to date. It does not make any difference with the printing.

I cannot find any other settings which would make a difference. I have tried color and B&W. Print quality. Paper etc. At this point the printer is pretty much worthless for what I bought it for.

Thanks: Gordon

I got very light printing in some softwares until I changed the "Media Type" option setting to "Plain Paper - High". I don't have your particular model mine is a Epson WF-3640.
