How Can I Test For GPU Errors?

Have a late 2011 15" MBP don't know much of its history as it was an eBay buy.

Seller stated in listing that the video card was fried. Have received it and it seems to be up and running fine. If he hadn't mentioned it in his listing i wouldn't have thought anything was wrong.

I would like to test it to confirm if GPU is failing, so if there is any test or way to find out 100% could you all please suggest, thank you in advance.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Run Valley Benchmark and see if it kernal panics or gets lines on the screen. AHT will usually not show GPU errors. ASD os will though

Hi have run the rest and no kernal panics but did see black lines at times (seemed to be graphics lagging) have since tested on 3 other MacBooks and they all showed the lines but seem to be running fine. Is it safe to assume they will all have GPU failures in the future? 2 were early 2011 15" models and 1 was 13" late 2011.

No. The 13 inches to not have a GPU issue. The seller probably reflowed the chip before sending it. Time will tell. Just keep using it and see what it does
