New Venom battery pack controller won’t sync

Just bought a brand new Venom battery pack and once I have put it on to my controller it won’t sync the controller back to the console. I’ve tried holding down the sync button multiple times however this doesn’t work. Suggestions to helping this situation would be really helpful.
