Where can I find a service to get a battery replaced?

Hoping to gift a model A1285 (iPod nano 8 GB) but the battery is unchargeable. Can't find anyone that seems to offer the service online. Is there something odd about the 4th generation that no one has parts? I don't have the expertise to fix it myself. Any help is appreciated.

I don't have the tools and I expect that the price of getting them would be just as expensive as getting a new MP3 player. Would you think so?
