Unresponsive Keyboard after boot up

Hi,

I couldn't find any info or repair guides on Macbookpro5,5 Keyboard problems. My keyboard functions at bootup and after using for 10minutes, the keyboard fails and becomes unresponsive and i have to resort to using a bluetooth keyboard.

Is there a fix for this ? Replacement cable ?

I am also having main bay hard disk issue and it looks like i will have to change the hard disk cable. Would the hard disk cable for 2012 MBP work in my mid2009 MBP ?

Yes the 2012 cable will work. On some machines I have to modify the hard drive retain bar. I use dikes and just cut the center bar off. Also you may be able to use only on screw on the ledge as the 2012 cable is wider. I do use 3M extreme mounting tape on either side of the cable to pad it as it comes onto the optical drive.

Thanks for the tip. What about the unresponsive keyboard? Is it a cable to replace? Is there a keyboard cable that i can buy?

It could be that the misbehaviour caused by the cable involves the keyboard too. In any case there are no cables, the keyboard connects to the board directly.

Keyboard and hard drive are different issues.

About your keyboard though have you had a go at reseating the keyboard cable? I've seen this as a common issues for intermitting keyboards unless liquid is involved.
