Why is my touchpad not working?

I have Asus vivobook and the touchpad suddenly stop working. I've tried to enable it by clicking Fn+F9 but no matter how many times i press it always shows "touchpad is disabled". I also have tried to go to the settings and device manager but i can't find touchpad menu everywhere. Please help me

What OS is installed in the laptop?

Have you checked in Device Manager, under Mice and other pointing devices to check if it is OK?

@jayeff windows 10 and yes, i hv already checked the device manager, but under the mice and other pointing device there's no option for asus touchpad

Go to the asus website and look for a touchpad driver for your specific notebook.
