NFC reader not working after replacing battery.

Just noticed that my nfc isnt working when trying to use apple pay. I replaced the battery myself last week so Im assuming I damaged something during the process. What should I start with checking or replacing? Thanks

You may have inadvertently damaged or not re-assembled the NFC bracket next to the Screen Bracket. Check out this guide, specifically steps 30-31.

Just opened phone back up and inspected that area, I didnt see any issue with it I definitely hadn't messed with it when I changed the battery. Have you heard of people needing to replace the nfc bracket after a battery change?

I had replaced my iPhone 6S Plus battery (2750 mAH) with that of 6 Plus (2915 mAH) since both have the same connectors. Battery life did slightly increase but at the expense of the non-functioning NFC/Apple Pay. I think it might have to do with the overclocking of the NFC frequencies out of the acceptable spectrum .

I thought the slightly longer battery life wasn’t worth the lack of NFC so I installed the correct one for iPhone 6S Plus battery (2750 mAH) and NFC/Apple Pay is working well afterwards.

I had the same issue on my iPhone 7. After replacing the old battery for a new one with much more capacity (1800 vs 2100 mAH), the NFC stopped working.

I will try to replace back a 1800 mAH battery again in the future, and let's see if the NFC works well again.
