Where is this piece of hard foam supposed to stick?

I renewed (with the help of your wonderful repair manuals) the hinge cover of my mbp. At the end of the process, this little piece of hard foam, lookong like a tiny brick, was left on my desk. Where is he supposed to stick? I couldn´t locate it in the guide.

PS.

Since a screw had fallen under the motherboard, I had to remove it too. (I would appreciate your help a lot, here in the Apple-desert called Europe;-) ).

I don't know for your MBP model but inside the earlier white macbooks these spacers are glued on the inverter cable connector and on the fan connector sensor probably to apply pressure from the top case to the connector so it wont disconnect easily inside the machine or to keep adequate space for internal ventilation.

I looked at our machine and I was not able to locate where that comes from. Usually, pieces like that are not critical to the computer.

Could be from a thousand different places, but my instinct says the WiFi antenna.

Thanks to all three of you. I just noticed that this piece of foam is *inside* every hinge cover, not really visible. One doesn´t stop learning.
