Will not spin after clothing caught in rubber around door
When I went to take clothes from washer, door would not open and I discovered a sleeve sticking through rubber gasket on door. I pushed it back in but door wouldn't open. Turned off fuse and left for a couple days. and was able then to open the door. There were several pieces of clothes tightly twisted together, round and round and round and the sleeve still trapped in door ring. I removed everything from the washer and then put a couple pieces back in and restarted the wash cycle. The machine goes through all cycles but it does not spin either during the wash or rinse cycle. It drains fine. Could the pump have been damaged or is there a simple "fix"?
Is this a good question?

The drum spins easily by hand so you are probably correct it is the belt. It is 16 years old so it may be time to replace rather than repair. Thank you for the quick response and willingness to help,

I just realized you said “dryer”. It is a washer

Judy, corrected, it's still the belt
