Stuck on startup screen

So I have a Lenovo ideapad 320 and I’ve had it since Christmas Day. It has been working fine until I went on today and it froze so I had to turn it off. When I tried to turn it back on it just got stuck on the loading screen and didn’t move and then I turned it on and off again and it said ‘preparing automatic repair’ but I’ve been here for like 30 minuets and it’s still a black screen

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Have you had your machine restored successfully? If not, maybe there is some step wrong and you can refer to this guide to reset the computer step-by-step.

If you you can dig into this...I would replace the eeprom. What you are saying, LOGO froze is the best indication. Replacing an eeprom in the field is not easy. In many cases a replacement board (also called, signal or main) will be replaced. As suggested, try to save programs first. Thanks for asking, Matt of Martins TV Repair.

Update (09/05/2018)

I repair televisions, and computers are exactly the same. I have seen this problem many, many times in a TV. If I knew the location on the main board I could pin point it for you. The problem is a defective eeprom. The eeprom consists of eight pins. Four on one side, four on the other. These are now SMD’s (surface mount devices). You will in your case need to replace the main board. Also, the power supply may have one or two bulged capacitors (not good). Sorry….you may have to buy another laptop. Thanks, Matt of Martins TV Repair.

Question, i have a 320 ABR 15 from BestBuy, i set a BIOS password and i cant remember it, i have tried a lot of my "usual" passwords and no results. I have heard about some method of eeprom shortcircuit to bypass BIOS password and reset the system, can you provide some info about that?

I have same problem did you get any help with password I stupidly left it blank in the bios password now I can’t get because I have no password

Remove battery if possible , Unplug power cord, hold down power button for 30 seconds. If this does not work then you'll have to either reset the os to factory defaults or reinstall the os from install media..

Update (01/05/2018)

The Lenovo IdeaPad features a hidden partition that contains recovery software, called Lenovo OneKey Recovery System, used to manage and troubleshoot your computer. Lenovo OneKey Recovery System enables you to scan the notebook for viruses, create a backup of your current configuration or restore the PC to a previous state. Unlike System Restore, which reverts Windows settings without affecting personal data, OneKey formats and reimages the entire hard drive to a previous state. If you intend to sell or give away the IdeaPad, or want to improve your computer's performance, you can do so using factory reset. The Lenovo will erase all of your existing data so the IdeaPad runs like new.

Back up your data first...

Factory reset

Step 1

Turn off the computer and press the Novo button, located to the left of the power button on the front of the PC.

Step 2

Select "Lenovo OneKey Recovery System" using the directional keys and then press "Enter" to boot into the recovery environment.

Step 3

Click "OneKey Recovery," select "Restore From Initial Backup" and then click "Next."

Step 4

Click "Start" and choose "Yes" at each prompt to reset the Lenovo IdeaPad to its factory default condition.

For some reason, shutting the laptop came seemed to allow it to restart. Prior to physically closing it, I wasn't getting anywhere.

it just so happens that my Lenovo does not have this NOVO button......

by

Mr. Joe, Thanks for your info, but by clicking "Restore From Initial Backup" and then click "Next." my entire data would be erased. ?
