CD DVD drive no longer works

I put in a cd or DVD, doesn't matter if it's blank, it spits it out.

I guess I probably can't fix it myself, so what are my options?

Is this a good question?

Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.66 24-Inch (Early 2009) Specs

Identifiers: Early 2009 - MB418LL/A - iMac9,1 - A1225 - 2267

There is no complete guide for repairing this model yet. I'm working on one. It's to late tonight but maybe I can post something on it for you tomorrow. It will probably need to be replaced. How's your warranty? Is it only spitting out blank disks or all disks? Go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to about this Mac -> more info -> Disk Burning and see if it's supported or sees the drive.

Here's what's up so far: iMac Intel 24" EMC 2267

Is it only spitting out blank disks or all disks? Double click on the photo to blow it up.

by

it spits out all discs. It doesn't give an error message or anything, it just spits them out.

Before you buy a new optical drive get a cleaning disk from Best Buy and see if you can save this one. There's really not much you can do to repair these drives. Also theses babies are high dollar so consider an external like this: http://www.amazon.com/LaCie-d2-DVD-RW-Li...
