Can I upgrade the flash memory in my iPhone 4s

From somebody else's flash memory from an iCloud locked iPhone 4 S?

Yes you can however it is a very time consuming and complex process that will not make economical sense. First the existing NAND IC has to be desoldered and "read" via a specialized NAND programmer to get all the metadata (SN# etc). Then the other NAND IC will have to be desoldered from the donor board. It will then be programmed with the previous metadata and then re-soldered onto the logic board. As with any micro-solder repair, there is always a certain level of risk involved. This is not a DIY repair and you will need to find a micro-solderer to do this.

I can't see anyone charging less than the actual value of an iPhone 4S so it's probably not really worth it.

Agreed! Not worth doing when you can buy a new phone for less than buying all of the equipment and parts to alter your's and you know it will work! Altering your phone may kill it!
