Burned chip near firewire port

Hello,

while doing audio work using a firewire Audio interface (Apogee Ensemble) audio stopped suddenly and i saw smoke coming out of my mac.

I switched it off and opened it and found a burned chip.

The computer still works (I haven't dared using the firewire port) and wondering it it's fixable maybe replacing the component.

I don't know what component it is and how it's affecting the computer's behaviour.

You can see a picture here

Thanks!

The part you damaged you is a 24volt fuse for the FireWire ports power service. You can see it here in this image: Logic board - Bottom side

Thank you! That is very helpful.

Is it just an SMD fuse that I could replace?

Thanks
