Identify This Piece of a Bracket

While digging around in my early 2011 13" MBP, I discovered the below-pictured piece of a what appears to be a bracket. Any thoughts as to what component this might belong? I have not been working in any areas where there is evidence of a broken part.

Options

Very common for these to break off. It's one of the retaining eye holes for securing the battery. They break off all the time.
