LCD does not get Power

Macbook was stepped on in the left upper keyboard area by the hinge to LCD. The LCD did not crack. The Macbook still drives an external monitor fine with everything working. The monitor is just pitch black. Unsure if the inverter was damaged or some cable assembly that goes to the display. Any ideas or troubleshooting advice is appreciated.

You most likely have a damaged cable. Could be the display data cable or the inverter cable. You will need to open it and visually examine the cables and connections. Here's a very good place to start.
