Hi @jaamac132 ,

You cannot open a CPU. You will destroy it if you try. They are irreparable. If they go faulty they have to be replaced.

What is the make and model number of your computer and what is the problem you are having?

I tried that before to see what was inside an old single core cpu. They are sealed tight.

Delidding is often done by people who are overclocking their systems to the max. It's done to get closer to the chip with a heatsink. Here's more: The Rockit 88 Delidding Tool Will Make Intel CPU Delidding Easy

It is not something I would recommend for a normal running system! You do risk damaging the chip.
