Can I switch PS3 hard drives?
Is there a way to take the hard drive out of the original PlayStation 3 and put it into the slim?

@avanteguarde I don’t believe you need a tear down for the hdd. At least, for the first gen models.
@ps3fanatic, they are called "Tear Down Guides" because they are comprehensive step-by-step disassembly guides. They include detailed photos to walk you through things. If I simply said open the slide slot, remove the hard drive screw and pull out the hard drive, it isn't 100% clear on what I am talking about.
