Washer completely stopped several times.

My washer had stopped part way through the wash cycle. The first thing I did was inspect the load of one set of queen sheets. They were kind of twisted so I straightened them out, thinking the machine might come back on. No luck. Checked the circuit breaker on our main panel but it wasn't tripped. I reset it anyway and the machine made a click sound. Turned the machine back on and it went back to working. However, this occurred about 6 times before finishing the entire cycle. This is the first time this has ever happened.
