Brand new dryer is tripping breaker in brand new house

We moved into a brand new house. About one month after moving in my dryer started squeaking then would only blow cold air. We decided to buy a new dryer instead of repairing the old one. I used the new dryer for a week and a half with no issues. Now the dryer keeps tripping the breaker. I will reset the breaker, the dryer will run for a couple of minutes & trip again. We've had several other breakers trip prior to any dryer issues. We've also had light bulbs in our master bath explode & shatter glass everywhere. I feel very unsafe, fearing a fire. Suggestions please.

@moneypit this sounds like more than dryer issue. I would contact the builder and you do have multiple options on this, depending if you hired the builder of if you purchased the home build. Have a licensed electrician go over the wiring and see what they think.

My guess would be a breaker that carries fewer amps than the dryer draws.

@mayer I thought about that as well but this "We've had several other breakers trip prior to any dryer issues. We've also had light bulbs in our master bath explode & shatter glass everywhere. " is what worries me. Sounds like to small a panel or to many circuits on the breakers.

@moneypit, I would suggest an electrician as well. I've seen a similar issue where either one or more light switches or one or more outlets had loose wires or poor / incorrect grounding. I may be as simple as tightening a few screws that attach the wires.
