Grey horizontal lines appear

Hi,

I have used my Computer and had no issues before. A couple of weeks ago I started to get grey horizontal lines on my screen. At first I thought it was a problem with my graphics card but now I am not sure. When I use my computer on my desk and increase the fan speed, I don't have this problem. But when I use my computer on my bed, I get those gray lines right away all across my screen. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Download a temperature monitor for your laptop. If it is overheating, try blowing out the heatsink, usually located right where the fan blows out. Do you only notice this problem while running on battery?

Thank you for your answer Brian. I am already using a fan app and it is helping greatly.

I have cleaned the fan and heatsink with compressed air but I feel like there is some dust stuck in the heatsink. I cannot fully clean it because I would have to disassemble the computer.

I have not thought about if I use it on battery, but now that I think about it, I believe it did only happen when I was on battery. Can the reason be that my battery already has 980 cycles(I have not gotten a warning from the computer telling me to replace it)?
