No wifi dispite change of wificard

Got a 15" MacBook Pro A1398 (Mid 2012) from my brother because the WiFi doesn't work (icon doesn´t even pop up).

Changed the AirPort card but nothing helped. Could it be the antenna cable?

This is a scren dump showing you info from Network and as you can see there is no WiFi icon at the top right.

Update (10/11/2017)

I got this which clearly says it´s for A1398

I got it from Aliexpress however for 12$ so I guess it could be that...

Where did you get the part from? You either have the wrong part or the logic board its self is damaged.

Here is what the correct part looks like: MacBook Pro 13" and 15" Retina (Late 2012/Early 2013) Airport/Bluetooth Board Apple P/N's 661-6534 or 661-7013

The system info panel is not even showing the cards info which would be the heading 'Interfaces:' just below the 'Software Versions:' heading. Which tells me the card is physically not being seen. While you also might have antenna issues as well, we still need to get the card visible here first.

Hmm, I can tell by comparing modelnumbers that they are different. On mine it says BCM94360CS and on the one in the provided link it says BCM94331CSAX if that even matters...

Maybe its not showing up or working because he needs the new WiFi driver so that the computer can recognize the WiFi card

Go by the Apple part number when searching, as an example: Apple 661-6534 it would get you to the correct board vs going by the description or the A1398 number as that encompasses the whole 15" retina line.

I think the problem is I ordered the wrong wificard. As Dan pointed out there are several macbooks in the A1398 retina line. I’ll let you know when I get the new card! Thanks everybody
