Why is my display turns grey?

I had someone replaced my dead LCD with a new one but it seems that the LCD was installed without even cleaning up the dust particles left on the back of the screen so the dust spread on the receptors/backlit sheets.

I decided to open the screen by removing the bezel carefully. The LCD was not quite hard to remove as it was not completely holding the adhesive around it so it was easily detached.

I placed the LCD facing down the keyboard as the board is screwed to the panel. While cleaning the backlit sheet and the lcd screen with a clean cloth and when cleaning was done I start placing back the LCD screen, but unfortunately I slightly pulled the lcd inverter/connector connected to the lcd board (the one with the green plastic on the left) and I immediately check the screen display. At first it went half black and half grey and all of a sudden it turns to a complete vertical lined grey screen.

I don't know what to do now. Can anyone tell me what seems to be the problem?

If anyone has with this same issue, please help me on how to fix it. I'm freaking out! And feel I would cry so hard if I can't get this working.

I spent my only saved money and I don't have any income to pay for another LCD.

Please help me. Thank you.

Sadly it sounds like you either disconnected the ribbon cable from the back of the board or tore it. Give this YouTube a watch see if you can identify which cable is damaged: How to replace A1466 Macbook Air screen updated video. Warning! Louis has a bit of a foul mouth.
