Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT
I really need some help. My dad just brought me a pair of Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT, and withing 3 days, I dropped them, and now the up on the volume control is mushy and doesn't do anything. The down volume still works. How would I fix it? And where could I get the parts? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I had this same issue; I accidentally dropped my headphones, and the volume button stopped working, what I did to solve it is opening them and as you can see in the picture I have attached, the two little buttons were broken, so. I manually used a screwdriver to provide support in the back and with the headphones turned on, raise the volume to the max limit. Now I have to control the volume from the source, phone, computer, etc.

How did you open them?
Gently pull on the earcups from the inside to remove them and you'll have access to 4 small phillps head screws you can remove. The earcup is only held together by some elastic material so just be gentle with it and you can get it off.
can you be more detailed than that. I have taken off the earpads and taken out the four phillips screws on mine but I cant seem to find out how to open up the earcup from here. It doesnt seem to give easily from any angle and I don't want to push too hard and break something
This worked for me but has I moved the switch with the screwdriver it desintegrated from the circuit board. Poorly designed switch buttons.. I guess it doesnt worth to try to find the switch button part and replace it.
worked for me on my HD 4.50 BTNC as well. volume down button would get stuck if you used it, lowering the volume total. up wasn't working. I opened it up (some glue of other parts made it a little difficult to open after undoing the screws), volume up was completely broken, down partly. at least I was able to turn volume to max now with some screwdriver support. Replacing the buttons myself did not seem very easy as they were soldered on.

See if this helps:
On the front of the receiver (the part that you wear) is a large black volume dial. This large dial acts like a "cog" and turns a smaller internal volume dial. In a scenario where the volume control of the Set 830 or Set 840 does not appear to be functioning correctly it may be a situation where the dials are out of alignment.
The solution is to realign the dials. To do this follow these steps:
Step 1: Remove the large black dial. (It pops straight off).
Step 2: Turn the volume all the way down by adjusting the small internal dial. (The small dial is grey colored and about the size of a dime).
Step 3: Re-align the large black dial with the "0" just to the RIGHT of the "12 o'clock" position and click it back into place.
Step 4: Test the volume.
Step 5: You're all set.

Hi, thanks for the response, but the volume control on my headphones isn't a dial. It's a volume rocker, like on a phone. They aren't rhe 830, or the 840. They are the 4.40 BT.
I just had the same issue with my HD 4.50 BTNC (which should be the same). The little push buttons behind the volume controls were broken due to the impact. You can remove the earpads and unscrew the case to see it. I bought those push buttons from Amazon which fit perfectly: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07PGZK... You need a hot air rework station, flux and a steady hand for soldering. You also have to be careful to not melt the case as you can't fully remove the circuit board from it. It worked for me and the headphones are like new now :-) Plus: I found a cable which wasn't properly soldered. Apparently it belonged to one of the noise cancelling microphones. After soldering it back on, I now actually have NC on those headphones. I always thought that this was just the worst NC I ever heard, but it actually was not active at all because it was broken right from the beginning XD

I am looking forward to repair my headphones myself. Could you write here the specifics of the push buttons which you got? Unfortunately the link does not work for me.
I have the same issue, the "volume up" push button is broken. Unfortunatelly I can't find the correct one.
Can you please share the specification or any detail for the push buttons you have bought?
I don't want to throw away working BT headphones, just because this tiny push button is broken
For those looking for the buttons used, it was "side set touch button micro SMD SMT tact switch" and they are size "2 x 4 x 3.5mm". Basically, I just took the amazon link and removed the extra stuff until I was left with "B07PGZK4HR" in the link... then with the power of google searched the "B07PGZK4HR" and found some listed in another country for amazon.
And for those wondering what happened to their buttons, there is a tiny piece of domed metal inside that acts as the spring or actuator for the switch (the clicky part that you feel). When you dropped it/ hit it too hard you flattened the domed piece of metal, and it no longer actuates... and worse because it's so close to the contact that activates the circuit sometimes it gets "stuck" and turns all the way up or down until you shake it a bit.
