Why does my iPhone 5s screen go blank when I close it all the way?

I replace the screen on my iPhone 5S. However, when I close down the screen to put it back together the screen goes off. If I pry the screen open again slightly, the screen turns back on. Why is this?

Options

Either faulty screen, bad screen ribbon cables, or trying to force in screen with bent / damaged metal housing frame corners.

If were to pick one of the above, I would go with bad ribbon cables :(

Because everything else seems fine .
