tightening OHV cover caused head to crack

I understand this chamber needs to be air tight as it is under pressure. Smoke/exhaust came from head at first re-start. Ran it for one minute and shut it off. What now?

Easy fix?

Repairable but difficult and expensive?

Don't worry about it, it will be fine?

Replace the head or junk the engine?

If you can provide a photo of damage it would help get a more definitive answer. Any answer to what you have provided so far would be a wild guess.

A skilled heliarc welding job could fix it. The head should be removed in any case. Not sure about the cost of a new head but that might be not much more expensive than welding the old pieces.
