How to replace LCD

Can a damaged LCD be replaced or will the whole assembly be require to be replaced? Closed laptop on an ear bud and now I have a black spot with vertical and horizontal features..

It is possible to do a lcd replacement but very very hard to do due to the very slim design of this model> you are better of with doing a full assembly swap is a "bit expensive" but this way you are sure to get it right from the first time
